Eventful Weekend

Everyone occasionally has one of those weekends that is so incredibly eventful that when it's over, the person spends the work week recovering from the fun.  That was my Easter Weekend.  Luckily, my job permits me two siestas a day.  So, I'm slowly but surely recharging for my next blast of amusement.

Easter Weekend began with a squadron egg hunt.  The Easter Rabbit apparently decided to hide a bazillion eggs on a soccer field.  He even hid them "age appropriately."  The bigger kids hunted for eggs on the playground.  On the other hand, midgets like me suffered an insult to our intelligence. The Easter Rabbit strategically placed our eggs in plainsight on the astroturf soccer field.  Seriously. But, I did enjoy racing around the soft "grass."  Dad hunted the eggs with me.  If Dad had hidden the eggs, I bet I'd get to carry a metal detector and hire me some hounds.  It would be a bit more stimulating.

After the Egg Hunt, I went to my first birthday party.  My friend Caroline turned two years old.  We were running a little late, but when we got there, I saw all of my buddies.  We actually had a table to ourselves!  Every kid got his own birthday hat.  There was even a plate with a hotdog and french fries waiting for me.  Caroline definitely knows how to party!  Boy, I ate like a pig.  For starters, I had some french fries and hotdog.  Mom was a little hesitant to give me hotdog. But I convinced her that a few munches of garbage wouldn't kill me.  Dad was eating some pizza, and since we had already pretty much broken "baby dietary considerations," I also got some pizza.  Whoa!  Why have people been holding out on me?!  Gerber's got nothing on that stuff.  I thought pizza, french fries, and hotdogs were five star until I had some birthday cake.  I didn't get much, but it was enough to discover that one of my two teeth is definitely a "sweet" one.  God knew what he was doing when he made the sweet tooth the first.

I was pretty excited to see that Katelyn was at Caroline's party.  So, Mom thinks I have a "crush" on her.  Alright, alright, I'll admit it.  I am enamored.  Well, yes, I have a crush....a super-crush!  Ok.....I'm obsessed with her smile.

On Easter Day, I happily discovered that the Easter Rabbit had left me three baskets!  There were toys, books, and plenty of candy.  I spent the day inspecting my loot.  In the afternoon, I got to show Dad how I can slide at the local "ghetto" playground.  I could tell he was thoroughly impressed.  Lastly but no less important, Mom explained to me why we actually celebrate Easter.  I even have a Golden Book that explains it all.  So, we opened "The Story of Jesus" and read it.  I'm still waiting for Mom to make the connection with the Easter Rabbit and eggs.
