Highlights

The other evening, I was just minding my own business, driving my Ferraris, Corvettes, and Toyota Land Cruiser along the scenic highway (the couch, but don't burst my bubble).  That's when I heard Locke and all of the other furball doofuses in the hallway whispering.

Locke, "Shhhhhh!  Wait for it, w-a-i-t   f-o-r  i-t........."

Then, they could hear a key inserted in the front door lock.  Within seconds, the door opened and in walked dad.

Albert loudly whispered, "NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Once I heard the door open, I completely disregarded the crazies in the hallway and ran to see dad.  My latest trick is stealing the hat out of his flight suit pocket.  He keeps it in the pocket on his lower leg, and man, it's easy pickins'.  I love that hat!  When I have that hat on, I command so much more respect.

As I was grabbing Dad's hat, I heard Ludendorff whisper, "Ja, you are correct.  Zee kiddo lights up zlike a zdowntown Kreestmas tree!  Dat ist sehr funny!"

Locke replied and retreated to my room followed by Ludendorff and the gang, "Yep, you can't beat it.  Now back to that discussion about absolute zero." (Blah blah blah blah....thermodynamics......entropy...blah bah blah)

I was involved in a more important quest: strutting around with Dad's hat on.

Dad's returning from work is pretty much the highlight of my day.  It beats all of the othe highlights of my day:
1) first bite of honey-drenched homemade pancake in the morning
2) the realization that my sportscars and heavy equipment are almost exactly where I parked them before naptime
3) the phrase, "let's go!" followed by making a right-hand turn out our front door -- means we're definitely going to the park
4) the sound of Skype
5) seeing the tractors demolishing the old apartment complex
6) checking mail and getting to spin the dial on the mailbox
7) playing with play dough and smelling it (but not eating it)

Yep, none of that beats Dad coming home from work.  Once Dad gets home, he wrestles with me, plays chase, and here's the best part.  He takes me on safaris.  He's the elephant, and I'm the explorer riding the elephant through the dark jungles of India. That, and of course, the hat.
