Alright, back to business....

This weekend, I celebrated my first birthday.  The shindig took place at my Uncle C and Aunt K's house in Austin, Texas.  Whew, I'm wondering if there's a way to make these events a little more frequent....you know, bi-monthly or something.

Where do I begin?  Family came from all over Texas.  Uncle W flew in from California.  Mom and Babcia put trains everywhere.  Uncle C and Uncle W grilled burgers and brats.  I had a chocolate cake with a train on top.  I had a mini cake with Legos and another mini cake with rocks. At one point, Mom lit the train cake on fire and held me up to watch it.  I was just waiting for that thing to explode.  Everyone sang a song.  "Poof!"  Mom blew the candle out.  Weird!  Who thunk up that cultural ritual?  The least they could have done was put some fireworks in the cake.  Oh well....I got to chow down on the cake.

Before I slipped into a sugar coma, Mom took me over to the fireplace where all the wrapped gifts were.  Sheesh, each one of those boxes had toys or books inside! Lots of toys with wheels!!  I love cars and tractors. I got my first soccer ball.

What a dream come true!  Not only that, but there were also balloons.  I LOVE balloons.

One gift in particular caught Locke's and Mountbatten's attention: a shark.  He hasn't said one word to us yet.  He just looks at us with a permanent grin.  I'm quite fascinated by his teeth.  Locke, none too thrilled, told me that he's going to get "Jaws" on Netflix and make me watch it while sitting next to this new addition to our zoo family.  Hmmm....I don't really get it.
