CAT

You're probably wondering what the heck is keeping me from writing about my adventures in Texas.  Well, hold your horses.  Sheesh.  I opted for an extended 4th of July weekend -- the government bureaucrat type.

Last Friday, I went down to the ranch.  This time, I made Locke ride in the bed of the pickup for that haul.  He lost a bet about something.  I can't really remember what...something about whether Boudreaux's Butt Paste will actually adhere a plastic bouncy ball to a wall.  Anyway, he woke me up from a nap for that discussion, and I wasn't completely clear in the head.

Back to the ranch....

We got there on Friday evening but early enough to stroll around.  I was pretty much awe-struck.  Mom kept reminding me that I'd been there seven months prior, but yeah, like I'm going to remember something from when I was....let's see....five months old.

Uncle Rad met us down there.  I pretty much became a big fan after he let me drive the truck AND.....drum roll.....a CAT 248B Skidsteer.  For those of you not particularly familiar with heavy equipment, look it up on Google.  I think YouTube even has videos.  Yep, I got to drive "Beatrice."  I've been trying to convince Mom that a Skidsteer would probably be a safer, more practical alternative to any type of family vehicle she and Dad are considering buying upon our return to the States.

When not marveling at "Beatrice," I played in the creek or took strolls in the pastures.

On the fourth of July, Mom and Pops shot off fireworks.  Babcia and I sat on the front porch and watched them.

Locke enjoyed the trip too.  He spent the entire weekend hunting wild pigs.  He won't tell me how many he picked off, but I doubt he got a single one.  After all, he kept asking me to sneak him some 4th of July brisket.  What a loser.
