Dad's B-Day
Whoa! Let me apologize for the train background. I asked Mom to find me a "cooler" background, but I didn't realize she was going to put something up that would get me sued for making everyone cross-eyed. So, I've reverted to the default. It's not permanent, but it will do until I find something more appropriate. And, besides, I couldn't have done that much damage to your eyes considering that it's been so long since I've updated. Yeah....'bout that....
I've been partying it up at Osan. My Dad had his 30th B-day, and boy, that was the first time that I ever got to be part of birthday festivities. On Mom's B-day, I went to bed before anything started. And yes, Mom, I do remember crying for quite a long time that evening. And, no, you didn't come get me. Ugh... I'll try to forget that injustice. I just wanted to be part of your big evening. Well....Dad's B-day...
It was a Friday. I helped Mom make the cake a day before -- a white chocolate cheesecake. We decorated the cake on the big day. I supervised from my Bumbo seat. Mom even gave me a taste of chocolate. I LOVE chocolate.
Dad got home around 6:00 that evening, and we had dinner together. After dinner, I got to help Dad open his gifts. Now, I think Dad liked what I got him. I got him a Money Miser 2010. (Well, it doesn't say 2010 on the box, but it sounds so much better with the number at the end.) It automatically sorts change into those money paper tubes...whatever you call those wrappers for change. Unfortunately, I forgot to buy C batteries for it. So, I took some out of my favorite train and donated them to Dad. That shows how much I care. Well, Mom promised to buy me more batteries.
In addition to his Money Miser 2010, I also got Dad a book. It's Glenn Beck's Arguing with Idiots book. Mom argues that Glenn Beck is far from an intellectual and a mere slapstick political wannabe pundit, but Dad and I argue otherwise. We think he's the most entertaining conservative out there. In fact, Mom should read his book. It is witty and pure political genius. Mom doesn't like Ann Coulter either. But, I don't either. She's too abrasive, and well, downright ugly.
Anyway, I scored with the birthday gifts because Dad's reading my book, and he really likes it. And, his Money Miser 2010 is sitting on his temporary desk -- the card table.
In addition to the above-mentioned gifts, Dad received a book and DVD from G-Dad and Gramma in CA and a painting from Mom. Babcia and Pops got him a Polish crystal whiskey decanter and glasses. I can't wait until that's sitting on the coffee table! Er.....don't tell Mom that it's a bad idea.
So, overall, I'd say that Dad had a productive B-day. Of course, I've been told that kids get lots more gifts, and I'm hoping that my b-day is a bit more...well.....a little heavier on the "gift side," if you know what I mean.
Here are some pics of me and Dad opening his gifts.
