Daily Stroll

Image
I got to wear one of my favorite shirts today.  Sometimes, I think I'm having a bad day.  Then, all I have to do is look at my shirt, and I'm a happy camper again.  Seriously, I like to point at my shirt constantly and remind Mom and Dad what's on there (besides breakfast), "T-act-tor."

Hiking

Image
Today, I went hiking with my friend Eric.  Well, Mom and Eric's mom went too.  Man, we need to get out and do more of that!  Finally, I put the Jackpack to its proper use.  We hiked through a forest, went up and down many hills, got to see an excavator at work, impressed many old Koreans with our cuteness.  It was memorable.  We hiked to a little tea hut where Mom and Eric's Mom got some tea from a Korean ladies.  Eric and I chowed down on our snacks.  His mom packed him blueberries!  Sheesh, obviously, she knows what a little guy likes.  Actually, I was more interested in Eric's dog, Moose -- a whippet.  That dog was a good dog.  I wish I had a whippet.  He had some soft fur and was so obedient.  After the tea hut, Eric and I got to walk instead of ride in the backpacks.  We climbed over tree roots and found many great-looking rocks.

Bouncy Castles, Firetrucks, and Dogs

Today will only get better, assuming that I get ice cream after dinner.  But, let me start at the beginning.  I slept in until 10:00 am, woke up to a pancake drenched in syrup.  I polished that bad boy off, downed some milk, all while catching up with my g-parents on Skype.  I thought to myself, "I have a distinct feeling that today is going to be my kind of day."  It's Saturday; Dad's home.  As if things couldn't get better....  Mom pulled out my bulldog shirt.  That's one of my faves.  Since I can't have a real bulldog, this is the next best thing.  I get to wear one on my shirt.  He, "Enforcer," keeps the jerk two year olds away, the ones who always seem to think that my Hot Wheels belong to them.  I know, I know....I will eventually be one of those.  Then, my bulldog will assume a different role but still be "Enforcer." I got my bulldog shirt on, and I knew we were headed for fun when Da...

TP

Finally, our house is back to normal.  Sheesh.  When Mom and Dad are both sick, it means my action-packed days are, well....not action-packed.  I got my cold last Saturday, and because I am the lean-mean fighting-booger machine, I whipped that virus in one day.  Mom and Dad obviously need to get the latest anti-virus update for their immune systems.  Both of them got nuked on Tuesday, and Dad ended up missing work on Thursday.  Mind you, this is the same cold that I whooped in one day...barely a booger escaped my wrath.  But, like I said, our house is back to normal.  Mom was in a particularly good mood today.  She's always in a good mood on "house cleaning" days.  Strange!  I think she likes to clean the house.  But, whatever floats her boat.  She likes the house clean. So....big discovery today!  Why didn't someone tell me about this earlier?!  I had no idea that I could have so much fun with that...

Horse Apples -- Not the Red Kind

Today, I got pretty close to writing letters to the UN Committe on Human Rights, the ACLU, or CPS.  I was a click away from hitting the print button.  That's when I realized that Libya had once headed the UN committee, the ACLU is run by a bunch of Obamanites, and CPS is run by....  Well, you get the idea.  Plus, Horatio, my shark intervened.  It all started when Dad taught me how to crash my vehicles into each other and when Mom taught me how to throw a ball.  And, I caught glimpses of war and baseball on tv.  I'm no idiot.  Combine all of these images into a nice package, sell it to an impressionable toddler, and I'm a happy customer. Lately, I've mastered throwing blocks, crashing my tractors into each other, launching vehicles off the sofa, and catapulting cheese from my tray.  It's entertaining and scientific.  After all, it's never too early to begin physics.  If I could just master the cabinet locks, I...

Open Letter to a Hero

Image
Great-Dziadek- I'm pretty sure that this is the fastest way to get a letter to you.  But, if you hop on that one-way train to the "best place ever" before this can get translated here, I'll make sure that my guardian angel delivers it to the "translating department."  I'm assuming that bureaucracy doesn't exist where you're going.  So, you'd have my letter in Polish before you could blink -- pretty sure.  They've got expert translators up there. Even though we haven't met, there's memory, just like you wrote in your diary.  Mom and Babcia have so many stories of gardens, bicycles, trains, ice cream, cherries, sand castles, wood carvings, tractors, and greenhouses.  When I get older, Mom will tell me about your heroism after the war. Well, from what my stuffed tiger, Locke, and Moutbatten, my elephant, tell me, the big guy upstairs, no doubt, has a farm and greenh...

Where have I been?

That's probably what you've all been wondering.  No, the Jackpack is not going out of print, and contrary the nasty rumours Locke has been spreading, I have not been eaten by Horatio.  I've been busy, really busy.  Mom's helping me put get my room a little more personalized with some airplane/car/filling station pictures.  Plus, she's been working on some other good stuff for my room.  It's about dadgum time I have something on my walls.  It's bad enough I don't have a backyard.  I definitely shouldn't feel institutionalized in my room.  Dad got me a new cable for my camcorder.  So, hopefully, when I upload my videos, they'll be of good quality.  Get ready for some "Korea Moments."

Typhoon Kompasu and Orienteering in Koreastan

Hi Folks and Long-Term Fans (maybe not so long-term anymore)! It seems that I'm always apologizing for these long periods of 'silence.'  Well, not today.  You see, I returned to Korea last Tuesday, just in time for Typhoon Kompasu.  This meant water outages and power outages.  We lost water the evening before the storm hit due to a damaged water main, courtesy of the previous typhoon.  This meant Mom and Dad were using water out of the dehumidifier to flush toilets -- pretty ingenious if you ask me.  Then, the morning the storm hit, we got our water back but the power went out.  And, it stayed out for two long days.  But, it wasn't horrible.  Dad didn't have work and ended up spending quite a bit more time home with me. Just so you know, I'm pretty convinced that I have the best dad in the world.  I know most kids are probably convinced that their dads are the best...
